Life's Purpose

A lot of people wonder what is the meaning and purpose of their life.  It is a valid and big question.  What is the purpose of our lives on this planet?  It can be summed up with two words: GOD'S PURPOSE.  We were placed on this planet for something far greater and far more important than anything this world has to offer.  And it is far greater than ourselves.  We were put on this planet to serve the God of this Universe and spread the Good News (Gospel) to those who don't know who God is and those who need to see how valued they are.  God wants to show people that they are loved by someone who is bigger and greater than anything or anyone on this planet.  When our lives are done down here, God will not care how much money we made, how many things we had, how many girlfriends/boyfriends we had; he is going to care about the relationship we had with him and what we did for his future kingdom to come and how many people we tried to help and love on (among other things).  That is what life is about and the purpose of it.  To bring forth his kingdom and glory through what we do for God down on this planet.  We are just vessels to be used by the only one qualified to guide and direct our lives: God.  God uses us to fulfill his PURPOSE and the PURPOSE of what he put us here for: to do the work of his Father's Kingdom.  Simply put, the purpose of our life is to get out there and serve God and his Kingdom.

Mark 16:15-16: "And then he told them, "You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.  Those who believe and are baptized will be saved.  But those who refuse to believe will be condemned." (The Living Bible)

Matthew 28:19-20- "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (New International Version)

Ephesians 4:1- "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." (New International Version)
Paul was in prison at this time.
We were called to do big things for God's kingdom in this life; so DO IT.  God does not care what circumstances you are in, he will still use you as long as you believe in him and make him the Lord of your life.

God's Sovereignty In Our Lives

God is SOVEREIGN.  There is none like him and there will NEVER be any like him.  He makes the Earth move, the clouds rain, he put the stars in the sky, etc..   He is the one that makes the world go round.  If you look in the word sovereignty, the word "reign" is in there.  God REIGNS.  He is the KING of this world and everything in this world.  It is ironic when we try and be the king of our own lives.  As imperfect human beings, we think that we are qualified to run our own lives and that we are the master's of ourselves.  We are going to mess up, but yet we think that the one PERFECT GOD in this universe (who doesn't make ANY mistakes), is not good enough to be the King of our lives.  That is false.  Their is only one person qualified to run our lives: GOD.  He should reign in our lives and be sovereign, and it is not because he has to.  He has giving us free will to make the decision to give our lives over to him and let him be the KING of our lives.  When we make God the King of our lives, he will do amazing things in our life and love us as his children.  He is the only one that provide's for us, renew's us, and still loves us for who we are; even after we stumble and screw up in life.  When we are alone in life or feel like we don't have anyone or anything, God is the one constant in our lives.  God is not a King that wants to oppress his people and make his people feel miserable.  He is a King that wants to love on his children and help them do his work in this world.  He wants to see us grow in our relationship with him and become a better person.  He wants to see us do the impossible (of course nothing is impossible with God).  That is why he should be sovereign and be the reigning King in our lives.  Because if we try and do it, usually (if not all the time) we screw up and it does not go as planned.

Ask yourself this, "When was the last time you let God run your day?".   Let God reign in your life, and he will be the best King and Father you ever had.  Transcend and be transformed by the sovereign and divine King of this universe: God.  And when you think you can be the King of your life, ask yourself this,
"Have the gates of death been shown to you?  Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?"  Job 38:17
"Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with it's cubs?" Job 38:32
The Bear and it's cubs are star constellations.

Serving God and God's Love for People

IT IS NOT ABOUT US.  Life is not about what we want to do on our terms.  Not about how much money we make, how much fun we have in life, or how successful we are.  Life is about serving God and putting him first in our lives above anything or anyone.  Life is about the SERVANT'S HEART.  Life is about getting out there in the world and affecting people's lives in any way that is pleasing to the Father.  Sometime's the biggest impact you can make in someone's life is just showing them you care about them, by getting to know them as a person and looking at them through how God sees them.  This can be just saying hi to someone in a grocery store and having a conversation with them.  Or going up to a group of people that are playing basketball in a park and ask if you can play.  The purpose of our life on this planet is to spread the Good News about God and his kingdom and to serve him with a servant's and obediant heart.

So many people in the world are hurting, that it yanks at the heartstrings of God.  The world tell's people that you will be happy if you have a lot of money, have sex before marriage, have a girlfriend/boyfriend, you have a sucessful career, have lots of possessions, etc..  That is completely false.  Yeah, you can enjoy life and what you have done in your life, but if you don't have the one person that can give you the peace, joy, and happiness in life; well, then you don't have anything at all.  That one person is the Saviour of the human race: Jesus Christ.  The world says that sin is okay.  God says that it is wrong and brings pain and suffering in people's lives.  People just want to feel valued and cared about in life.  God wants to show people the love he has for them, and he wants to use us to do that.  All it takes sometimes is that one action that makes all the difference in a person's life.  Million's of people in this world need God's love and need someone to show them that they are VALUED.  We mess up at times in life, but God is willing to forgive us if we come before him and repent and give our life and hearts over to Him.

Matthew 10:39- "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
The more we love this life (the world now) and it's reward's, the more we will discover just how empty life can be without the Father a part of it.  The more we give up this life and the pleasures of it (at times that would be sin),  the more we will find God and have a life full of happiness, peace, joy, love, and righteouness.

Worry

Matthew 6:25-27 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

We as imperfect human being's, all worry about life at some point.  Times get tough, and sometimes we will try to rely on ourselves to get out of it because we are the only one's we trust.  How ironic is that, that we trust ourselves sometimes more than the Creator of the Heavens and Earth and Universe?  We are flawed, and are going to mess up in life, and yet we trust ourselves more than God sometimes.  If God is willing to feed the animals of the Earth, than he is going to take care of his CHILDREN.

I once knew a friend who went to Australia overseas for a school on a one-way plane ticket.  He did'nt have enough money to get back or a plane ticket to get back.  During the course of the school, he then needed enough money for outreach to India and still for a plane ticket back to the US.  But instead of worrying about it and trying to come up with the money himself, he trusted God and God provided him with $2000.  That was enough for outreach and a plane ticket and a little extra.

Don't worry about things in life.  God is the master planner of life, and he has a plan for every single person in this world.  Worry immobilizes, but concern moves you to action.  God does not want us to worry all the time in our lives.  He wants us to live with the joy and comfort of who he is and the comfort of knowing that he will always take care of us.  Humans are the most valuable thing to God in this world.   God says, "Don't worry about it.  I got this.  Just trust me and have faith.  I am you FATHER.  I love you more than you can comprehend."

Work

Matthew 25:21- "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share your master's happiness!"

Whatever we are doing in life, wheater its working at a clothing store, professional athelete, missonary work; God wants us to work hard and serve him completely in whatever we do.  For most people, this means doing our work out of love for God.  This is what God says when we work hard at any job and serve him; also when we are faithful to him and what he wants us to do.  It doesn't matter what type of job you have in God's eyes.

People wondered why a guy(who is 24) works so hard at a pizza place he works at?  It's because this person loves his God and wants to be faithful in the menial tasks in his life and please his Father by working hard.
